Nature lovers will enjoy watching nature's rebirth, as the temperature rises, the landscape thaws, and the wildlife awakens from its slumber. A walk through the woods will stimulate the passerby with sights, sounds, and smells of nature renewed.
The replenished waters offer exquisite fishing opportunities. And for those who enjoy the thrill of whitewater, the Moose River and Beaver River provide excitement for rafters and kayakers.
With the snow gone, ATV enthusiasts can hit the trails. Our scenic trails, abandoned roads, and old railroad beds are excellent for riding. Nothing compares to the feeling of the year's first ATV excursion, and gives our snowmobilers a fun off-season activity.
* ATV Trail Map is available from the Chamber for a nominal fee.
Springtime is also when we produce the finest maple syrup in the country. Always in high demand, no pancake breakfast is complete without our light or medium amber maple syrup. Be sure to visit our sugar shanties during Maple Weekend.
For a complete history of maple syrup making you can visit the American Maple Museum.
