Wine & Grapes in the Tughill Adirondacks Region

Tughill Vineyards

Evidence of wine dates back 5,000 to 6,000 BC, while domesticated grapes date back 3,000 to 4,000 BC. In the past, the cold winter climate of the Lewis County region of New York has detered the cultivation of grapes. With recent developements of Cold Hardy Grapes, which will produce full crops after winter temperatures as low as -36 degree F, this limitation no longer exists. The Tug Hill Vineyards located 6 miles north of Lowville NY on Route 12 is the first in the region to pursue the cold hardy grapes and wine production in Lewis County Tughill Adirondacks region.

The vineyards and wine cellar at Tughill Vineyards offers a sereen view with an elegant post & beam facility. This relaxing environment is great for parties, wine tastings, weddings, gatherings and more. The wine cellar and giftshop also features top wines of New York State. Make Tughill Vineyards a must stop destination on your next trip, drive or evening get-a-way.
