In the early years, the golf course was also used for evening baseball games, first tee boxing matches, and even an occasional airplane landing. Today the golf course consists of 18 holes in the scenic outdoors.

Carlowden Country Club in Denmark was established in 1926. When it first opened, it had only one hole. The golfers played the same hole over and over again. Today the course has all 18 holes. From the clubhouse, there is a magnificent view of the colorful Adirondack Mountains.
Built in 1910, the Brantingham Golf Course is a focal part of beautiful Brantingham Lake. Known for its sand greens (until 1964), this course was included in the book "Adirondack Golf... Past and Present" by J. Peter Martin.
The Cedars Golf Course is located on the East Road (County Route 19) between Castorland and Lowville. Its facilities include a clubhouse and pro shop.
Constructed circa 1840, Turin Highlands Country Club was formerly a farmhouse. Turin Highlands has an eighteen-hole championship golf course.
Crystal Acres Family Recreation Center, New Bremen, is a splendid miniature golf course and driving range.
