5K Run for Cure and Family Fun Run
The Lowville Academy Relay for Life team will be sponsoring a 5K Run for Cure and Family Fun Run on July 3rd. The race will begin and end on the front lawn of the school. The cost for the 5K is $15 ($20 after 6/25). Registration will be from 5:15-6:15 with the race beginning at 6:30. Registration for the Fun Run will begin at 6:30, with the run taking place following the 5K. The cost for the Fun Run is $5. All proceeds will be donated to American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Zwanzigstein Fest
The Adirondack Mennonite Heritage Association who celebrates its 20th anniversary this year will holds its annual 19th Annual Zwanzigstein (20 stones) Fest on Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The location of the Fest will be at the Heritage Farmstead on the north branch of the Erie Canal Road outside of Croghan.

The Fest will feature traditional Mennonite arts and crafts. Logging stories of the past will be shared. Activities for the children include the following: horse and wagon rides, butter churning, quilt tying, petting zoo, etc. There are tours of the house plus dis

Historic Adventure for children begins with colonial cooking. Make Thomas Jefferson's favorite dessert. Munch on colonial treats that the Constables served. Annual Boonville Kiwanis Auction
The annual Boonville Kiwanis Auction will be held at the Boonville Kiwanis Building located in the Boonville Fairgrounds on July 9th. The auction will start promptly at 6:30 pm with viewing from 5:30 pm. The auction will include gift certificates and merchandise from various local merchants and there will be refreshments served at the auction as well. All money raised at the auction is used to fund youth programs and activities throughout the community. With Les Porter as our auctioneer, it promises to be a great night for all!

Recognizing Mr. Irving J. Kraeger for over 50 years of service to the Lewis County General Hospital and Hospital Foundation. 4-person Captain & Crew format. Lyons Falls Festival
The Lyons Falls Festival starts with a Kids Parade from Center St. to the Riverside Park. All children are welcome to march with or without a costume and each will receive a balloon. The festival will have games, bouncies, Chinese auction, petting zoo, horse and wagon rides, bake spin, face painting. For entertainment: Adirondack Choir, and Trillium Fiddlers, and affordable food and beverages. Come and join an affordable, fun, family event. RiverFest 2009
The 2009 RiverFest will take place on August 1st starting at the lower boat launch in Lyons Falls and end at the boat launch in Glenfield. The route is 8.6 miles long. The cost to participate is $5.00 to cover insurance fees. There is a shuttle at the beginning of the trip. Kayak and Canoe rentals are available through Adirondack Exposure. Reservations needed at the Chamber by July 28th. T-shirts are available for $10 with preregistration, $12 day of the event
